 | Simon Austin is Professor of Structural Engineering in the Department of Civil and Building Engineering at Loughborough University. He is also founder director of Adept Management, a management consultancy to leading construction companies. Prior to this he worked for Scott Wilson Kirkpatrick & Partners and Tarmac Construction. He has undertaken industry-focused research for over 25 years into design process re-engineering, integrated working, value management, structural materials and their design. He's experienced a range of working environments from Portacabins, 70s concrete and brick, 80s corporate weathering steel with room gardens, 70s precast modular and 00s extension thereof for which he takes full responsibility. |
